Responsive design

Is responsive design the best new thing in web development and design?

Ah the buzz word in the web community is 'Responsive' what does this mean I hear you say. Well....

Now we've got one of those SmartPhones and maybe a Tablet, (Yes this also mean iPad...) and probably some kind of home computer whether it be a desktop or a laptop. When you browse the internet on your laptop or desktop all websites generally look great everything works on the page, but what happens when you look at that site on your SmartPhone you find yourself scrolling left and right and up and down and 'pinching' to get the site to fit.. annoying right!?

Well responsive puts an end to this, if designed and developed correctly a responsive design will re-arrange the content to make it fit nicely on your device.

Still confused by it all? Then check out these great sites (The Responsinator & Responsive) and have a play.

I've not looked too much into the best way to deliver a Responsive site there is much debate about that some say media queries are the way to go others suggest javascript.

I'm going to tackle the media queries route with this site soon (not yet) and see how it goes.

Stay tuned...

What I'm working on now...

After finishing the update to Fil-Event.com it's time to move on to the next project which is the 28th Barrio Fiesta sa London.

A huge Filipino event now which is taking place in Lampton Park. A simple page is up and running now to give people a chance to pre-register their interest and win prizes and meet the artists who are going to be performing.

The 28th Barrio Fiesta sa London is organised by TFC and The Philippine Centre.
