End of Coranto?
Ah Coranto... it makes me think of a comfortable pair of slippers that you know you should probably get a new pair but you just can't bring yourself to change them and all the new ones just don't feel 'right'.
Coranto was my fist jump into CMS many years ago when I was developing my first website called superpalace.net. The site no longer exists but I've got some fond memories which can still be see thanks to Internet Archive.
How many developers can remember back in the day when you created a new page for each piece of content before you got to grips with a CMS... ah those were the days.
I first found Coranto through an on-line forum and I remember spending hours reading through trying to get my head around how it all worked and then it all finally clicked and Coranto was a work of genius.
I suddenly found that I could devote more time to improving and developing new features for the site rather than spending an hour creating content.
Unfortunately Coranto's development has basically all but stopped, much promise of the 2.0 release has failed to happen and with the rise of WordPress, Joomla and Drupal there isn't much interest to release new features or the next generation.
It had great promise and if you ask anyone who has used Coranto to build a site you'll find most people speak fondly of it. Yes it had it 'perks' but don't they all.
I still actively use Coranto for new sites because these slipper are not quite ready to come off but I think it's time to start trying on a new pair...
After finishing the update to Fil-Event.com it's time to move on to the next project which is the 28th Barrio Fiesta sa London.
A huge Filipino event now which is taking place in Lampton Park. A simple page is up and running now to give people a chance to pre-register their interest and win prizes and meet the artists who are going to be performing.
The 28th Barrio Fiesta sa London is organised by TFC and The Philippine Centre.
